अतः: पर प्रवक्ष्यामि सूक्ष्मभावकरीं शिवाम् । निवृत्तिं सर्वभूतेषु मृुदुना दारुणेन च,महर्षियो! अब मैं मनकी सूक्ष्म भावनाको जाग्रत् करनेवाली कल्याणमयी निवृत्तिके विषयमें उपदेश देता हूँ, जो कोमल और कठोर भावसे समस्त प्राणियोंमें रहती है
ataḥ paraṃ pravakṣyāmi sūkṣmabhāvakārīṃ śivām | nivṛttiṃ sarvabhūteṣu mṛdunā dāruṇena ca ||
เพราะฉะนั้น โอ้มหาฤๅษีทั้งหลาย บัดนี้เราจักอธิบายต่อถึง ‘นิวฤตติ’ อันเป็นมงคล ซึ่งปลุกเร้าความโน้มเอียงอันละเอียดของจิตให้ตื่นขึ้น นิวฤตตินั้นสถิตอยู่ในสรรพสัตว์ทั้งปวง—บางคราวปรากฏอย่างอ่อนโยน บางคราวปรากฏอย่างเข้มงวด
