ब्राह्मणांस्तर्पयन् द्रव्यैस्ततो यज्ञे यतव्रतः । मैत्रान् साधून् वेदविद: शीलवृत्ततपोर्जितान्,तुम नियमपूर्वक यज्ञमें सुशील, सदाचारी, तपस्वी, वेदवेत्ता, सबसे मैत्री रखनेवाले तथा साधु स्वभाववाले ब्राह्मणोंको धन देकर संतुष्ट करो
bhīṣma uvāca | brāhmaṇāṁs tarpayann dravyais tato yajñe yatavrataḥ | maitrān sādhūn vedavidaḥ śīla-vṛtta-tapo-rjitān ||
