Adhyāya 60: Dāna vs. Yajña—Royal Giving, Protection, and Karmic Share
कीर्तिर्भवति दानेन तथा5<5रोग्यमहिंसया । द्विजशुश्रूषया राज्यं द्विजत्वं चापि पुष्कलम्
kīrtir bhavati dānena tathārogyam ahiṃsayā | dvijaśuśrūṣayā rājyaṃ dvijatvaṃ cāpi puṣkalam ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ด้วยทานย่อมเกิดเกียรติยศ และด้วยอหิงสาย่อมได้สุขภาพและความผาสุก ด้วยการปรนนิบัติทวิชะ (พราหมณ์) ย่อมได้อำนาจอธิปไตย และยังได้ส่วนอันไพบูลย์แห่งความเป็นพราหมณ์แท้ (บุญและฐานะทางจิตวิญญาณ)”
