Adhyāya 59: On Giving to the Asker and Supporting the Non-asking (याचक-अयाचक-दाने धर्मः)

The verse is a colophon marking the close of a teaching unit: it situates the preceding instruction within dāna-dharma (the ethical discipline of giving) as part of Bhīṣma’s broader dharma-upadeśa in the Anuśāsana Parva.
The text signals the conclusion of the Cyavana–Kuśika dialogue and identifies it as the fifty-sixth chapter within this portion of the Anuśāsana Parva, functioning as an editorial/narrative closure rather than a new doctrinal statement.
