Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission

वे फिर यथास्थान खड़े होकर मुनिके पैर दबाने लगे। अबकी बार वे महामुनि दूसरी करवटसे सोये थे ।। तेनैव च स कालेन प्रत्यबुद्धयत वीर्यवान्‌ | न च तौ चक्रतु: किंचिद्‌ विकारं भयशड्कितौ,शक्तिशाली च्यवन मुनि फिर उतने ही समयमें सोकर उठे। राजा और रानी उनके भयसे शंकित थे, अतः उन्होंने अपने मनमें तनिक भी विकार नहीं आने दिया

tenaiva ca sa kālena pratyabuddhyata vīryavān | na ca tau cakratuḥ kiñcid vikāraṃ bhayaśaṅkitau ||

ทั้งสองยืนอยู่ ณ ที่เดิมอีกครั้ง แล้วนวดพระบาทของมุนี คราวนี้มหามุนีบรรทมตะแคงไปอีกด้านหนึ่ง ครั้นล่วงเวลาเท่าเดิม ฤๅษีจยวนะผู้ทรงเดชก็ทรงตื่นขึ้นอีกหน พระราชาและพระมเหสีหวั่นเกรงอยู่ในใจ จึงมิให้มีอาการเปลี่ยนแปลงแม้เพียงน้อย และยังคงปรนนิบัติรับใช้อย่างเดิม

Even under fear or pressure, one should maintain self-control and steadiness in conduct; dharmic service requires composure and absence of reactive ‘vikāra’ (disturbance).

The powerful sage (Chyavana) wakes after the same span of sleep. The king and queen, wary of offending him, keep their demeanor unchanged and continue attending to him without showing agitation.
