Aṣṭāvakra’s Visit to Kubera: Hospitality, Temptation, and the Ethics of Restraint (अष्टावक्र-वैश्रवणोपाख्यानम्)

sarvaṁ tudati tat pāpaṁ bhāvayac chivam ātmanā

Sincere inner contemplation of Śiva has the power to destroy even deeply rooted sin; moral purification is possible through wholehearted devotion and inward transformation.

Vāyudeva is speaking and instructing that the affliction caused by sin is removed by meditating on Śiva with one’s whole self, emphasizing the redemptive efficacy of Śiva-bhakti.
