Educational Q&A

Dharmic acts like tīrtha-bathing are portrayed as sources of merit, and the verse emphasizes that sincere religious practice may be protected from obstacles and crowned with lasting spiritual reward (akṣaya svarga) through the sanction of a realized authority.

Māṇḍavya addresses a brahmin and pronounces a boon: the person will be able to complete bathing at all sacred places without hindrance, and will receive an imperishable, radiant heaven as the fruit of that blessed undertaking.
