निबोधत यथावृत्तमुच्यमानं मयानघा: । राजवृत्तेन सम्पन्न: प्रज्मयाभिजनेन च
nibodhata yathāvṛttam ucyamānaṃ mayānaghāḥ | rājavṛttena sampannaḥ prajñayābhijanena ca ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “โอ้ผู้ปราศจากมลทิน จงฟังเรื่องราวตามที่เกิดขึ้นจริงซึ่งเราจะกล่าวให้ถ้วนถี่ ภีษมะเพียบพร้อมด้วยจริยาวัตรแห่งกษัตริย์ ทั้งโดดเด่นด้วยปัญญาและชาติกำเนิดอันสูงส่ง”
