Shloka 4

बलं श्रोत्रे वाड्मनश्चक्षुषी च ज्ञानं तथा सविशुद्ध॑ ममाद्य । देहन्यासो नातिचिरान्मतो मे न चाति तूर्ण सविताद्य याति,आज मेरा बल, मेरे कान, मेरी वाणी, मेरा मन और मेरे दोनों नेत्र तथा मेरा विशुद्ध ज्ञान भी सब एकत्रित हो गये हैं। अतः जान पड़ता है कि अब मेरा शरीर छूटनेमें अधिक विलम्ब नहीं है। आज सूर्यदेव अधिक तेजीसे नहीं चलते हैं

bhīṣma uvāca | balaṁ śrotre vāṅ-manaś-cakṣuṣī ca jñānaṁ tathā saviśuddhaṁ mamādya | deha-nyāso nāti-cirān-mato me na cāti-tūrṇaṁ savitādyayāti ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า— “วันนี้กำลังของเรากลับคืนมาแล้ว โสตประสาท วาจา จิต และดวงตาทั้งสองมั่นคง อีกทั้งปัญญาก็ผ่องใสบริสุทธิ์ ดังนั้นเราจึงเห็นว่าเวลาวางกายนี้ไว้คงไม่ไกลนัก แต่วันนี้พระสุริยะก็มิได้เคลื่อนด้วยความเร่งร้อนเกินควร”
