ज्योतिर्भूत: परमोडसौ पुरस्तात् प्रकाशते यत्प्रभया विश्वरूप: । अप: सृष्टवा सर्वभूतात्मयोनि: पुराकरोत् सर्वमेवाथ विश्वम्,ये विश्वरूपधारी श्रीकृष्ण परम ज्योतिर्मय सूर्यका रूप धारण करके पूर्व दिशामें प्रकट होते हैं। जिनकी प्रभासे सारा जगत् प्रकाशित होता है। ये समस्त प्राणियोंकी उत्पत्तिके स्थान हैं। इन्होंने पूर्वकालमें पहले जलकी सृष्टि करके फिर सम्पूर्ण जगत्को उत्पन्न किया था
jyotirbhūtaḥ paramo 'sau purastāt prakāśate yatprabhayā viśvarūpaḥ | apaḥ sṛṣṭvā sarvabhūtātmayoniḥ purākarot sarvamevātha viśvam ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—พระองค์คือแสงสูงสุด ปรากฏ ณ ทิศบูรพาโดยทรงรูปเป็นสากล; ด้วยรัศมีของพระองค์ โลกทั้งปวงจึงสว่างไสว พระองค์เป็นครรภ์กำเนิดและอาตมันภายในของสรรพสัตว์ ในกาลดึกดำบรรพ์ พระองค์ทรงบังเกิดสายน้ำก่อน แล้วจึงทรงก่อกำเนิดจักรวาลทั้งสิ้น
