पद्मनाभो5रविन्दाक्ष: पद्मगर्भ: शरीरभृत् । महर्द्धिर््रद्धो वृद्धात्मा महाक्षो गरुडध्वज:
bhīṣma uvāca | padmanābho 'ravindākṣaḥ padmagarbhaḥ śarīrabhṛt | maharddhir ṛddho vṛddhātmā mahākṣo garuḍadhvajaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—พระองค์คือ ปัทมนาภะ ผู้มีนาภีเป็นดอกบัว; อรวินทักษะ ผู้มีดวงตาดุจดอกบัว; ปัทมครรภะ ผู้ควรภาวนาในดอกบัวแห่งดวงใจ; และ ศรีรภฤต ผู้ค้ำจุนสรรพชีวิตผู้มีร่างกาย. พระองค์ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์และความรุ่งเรืองยิ่ง เป็นอาตมันดึกดำบรรพ์ มีดวงตากว้าง และทรงธงเครื่องหมายครุฑ—ด้วยนามเหล่านี้พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจึงได้รับการสรรเสริญ.
