Educational Q&A

Faithful, devoted recitation of a sacred hymn is presented as a dharmic discipline that cultivates inner virtues (contentment, patience, steadiness, memory) and also supports worldly well-being (prosperity and good reputation).

Bhishma, instructing Yudhishthira in the Anushasana Parva, states the fruit (phalaśruti) of studying/reciting the hymn—assuring that the devotee becomes endowed with specific virtues and auspicious outcomes.
