नोत्थापयामि भर्तारें सुखसुप्तमहं सदा । आन्तरेष्वपि कार्येषु तेन तुष्यति मे मन:
notthāpayāmi bhartāraṃ sukhasuptam ahaṃ sadā | āntareṣv api kāryeṣu tena tuṣyati me manaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—เมื่อสามีของข้าพเจ้าหลับอย่างผาสุก ข้าพเจ้าไม่เคยปลุกเขาเลย แม้มีธุระจำเป็นแทรกเข้ามาก็ยังยับยั้งตน; ด้วยเหตุนี้จิตใจของข้าพเจ้าจึงสงบอิ่มเอม
भीष्म उवाच
Considerate restraint in domestic life: one should not disturb another’s well-being for minor or avoidable tasks; such mindful service and patience cultivate harmony and inner contentment.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction on conduct (especially household and relational duties), a speaker presents a personal rule of behavior: not waking the husband who is sleeping comfortably, even when there are pending tasks, highlighting a model of considerate service.
