ऋषिभि: संशयं पृष्टो वसुश्नेदिपति: पुरा । अभक्ष्यमपि मांसं य: प्राह भक्ष्यमिति प्रभो
ṛṣibhiḥ saṁśayaṁ pṛṣṭo vasuś cedi-patiḥ purā | abhakṣyam api māṁsaṁ yaḥ prāha bhakṣyam iti prabho ||
ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นใหญ่! ในกาลก่อน เหล่าฤๅษีได้ถามข้อกังขาต่อพระวสุ กษัตริย์แห่งเจที; ครั้นนั้นพระวสุกลับกล่าวว่า แม้เนื้อสัตว์ซึ่งแท้จริงเป็นของต้องห้ามโดยสิ้นเชิง ก็เป็นของควรกินได้
