Ahiṃsā as Threefold Restraint (Mind–Speech–Action) and the Ethics of Consumption

वैशम्पायन उवाच तयो: संवदतोरेवं पार्थगांगेययोस्तदा । आजगाम विशुद्धात्मा नाकपृष्ठाद्‌ बृहस्पति:,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! कुन्तीपुत्र युधिष्ठिर और गंगानन्दन भीष्म, इन दोनोंमें इस प्रकार बात हो ही रही थी कि विशुद्ध अन्तःकरणवाले बृहस्पतिजी स्वर्गलोकसे वहाँ आ पहुँचे

vaiśampāyana uvāca | tayoḥ saṃvadator evaṃ pārthagāṅgeyayos tadā | ājagāma viśuddhātmā nākapṛṣṭhād bṛhaspatiḥ ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่ชนเมชัย ขณะปารถะ (ยุธิษฐิระ) และภีษมะผู้กำเนิดจากคงคากำลังสนทนากันดังนี้ บฤหสปติผู้มีจิตบริสุทธิ์ก็เสด็จมาถึงที่นั่นจากเบื้องสูงแห่งสวรรค์”
