पारदार्यमनायुष्यं नापितोच्छिष्टता तथा । यत्नतो वै न कर्तव्यमभ्यासश्रैव भारत
pāradāryam anāyuṣyaṃ nāpitochchiṣṭatā tathā | yatnato vai na kartavyam abhyāsaś caiva bhārata ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—การคบหากับภรรยาของผู้อื่นย่อมทำให้อายุสั้นลง; และการคงอยู่ในสภาพอุจฉิษฏะหลังการโกน/ตัดผมโดยช่าง (โดยมิได้อาบน้ำ) ก็เป็นโทษเช่นกัน เพราะฉะนั้น โอ ภารตะ พึงหลีกเลี่ยงด้วยความเพียร และพึงงดการศึกษาพระเวทเมื่ออยู่ในภาวะอศุจิ (ไม่บริสุทธิ์)
