दशभिर्विश्वजिद्धिश्न शतैरष्टादशोत्तरै: । न चैव तेषां देवेश फलेनाहमिहागमम्‌

daśabhir viśvajid-dhiśna śatair aṣṭādaśottaraiḥ | na caiva teṣāṃ deveśa phalenāham ihāgamam, brahman |

ภคีรถะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งเทพทั้งหลาย ข้าแต่พราหมณ์—ข้าพเจ้าได้ประกอบวิศวชิตยัญสิบครั้ง และยังได้ประกอบเพิ่มอีกหนึ่งร้อยสิบแปดครั้ง; ถึงกระนั้น ข้าพเจ้าก็มิได้มาถึงสภาพนี้ด้วยผลแห่งพิธีเหล่านั้น. การมาถึงของข้าพเจ้าไม่ใช่รางวัลแห่งบุญจากยัญบูชา.”
