Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the verse itself teaches by framing: it marks the Śakuntalā episode as part of the Mahābhārata’s larger ethical concern with dharma in matters of marriage, recognition, and rightful lineage—foundational to social order and kingship.

This is the formal closing line of the chapter and the Śakuntalā sub-narrative within the Sambhava Parva. It signals that the text has completed that episode and is transitioning to the next portion of the Ādi Parva.
