Śakuntalā-Janma-Nāmakaraṇa (Birth and Naming of Śakuntalā) | शकुन्तला-जन्म-नामकरणम्
दक्षस्त्वजायताड्गुष्ठाद् दक्षिणाद् भगवानृषि: । ब्रह्मण: पृथिवीपाल शान्तात्मा सुमहातपा:,भूमिपाल! ब्रह्माजीके दाहिने अँगूठेसे महातपस्वी शान्तचित्त महर्षि भगवान् दक्ष उत्पन्न हुए
dakṣas tv ajāyatāṅguṣṭhād dakṣiṇād bhagavān ṛṣiḥ | brahmaṇaḥ pṛthivīpāla śāntātmā sumahātapāḥ ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่ผู้พิทักษ์แผ่นดิน จากนิ้วหัวแม่มือขวาของพระพรหม ได้บังเกิดฤๅษีผู้ควรสักการะนามทักษะ ผู้มีจิตสงบและบำเพ็ญตบะยิ่งใหญ่”
