Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the dharmic relationship between royal authority and spiritual learning: a king’s great rites and decisions are ideally guided by accomplished sages and disciplined students, showing reverence for knowledge transmitted through a teacher–disciple lineage.

Śaunaka narrates that a revered sage arrives at King Janamejaya’s sacrificial assembly, entering the ritual hall together with disciples proficient in the Vedas and Vedāṅgas, setting the stage for authoritative instruction and narration within the sacrificial context.
