शौनक उवाच सूतपुत्र यथा तस्य भार्गवस्य महात्मन: । च्यवनत्वं परिख्यातं तन््ममाचक्ष्व पृच्छत:,शौनकजी बोले--सूतपुत्र! मैं पूछता हूँ कि महात्मा भार्गवका नाम च्यवन कैसे प्रसिद्ध हुआ? यह मुझे बताइये
Śaunaka uvāca: Sūtaputra yathā tasya Bhārgavasya mahātmanaḥ | cyavanatvaṁ parikhyātaṁ tan mamācakṣva pṛcchataḥ ||
เศานกะกล่าวว่า “โอ บุตรแห่งสุตะ เราขอถาม—มหาตมะภารควะผู้อันยิ่งใหญ่ เหตุใดจึงเป็นที่เลื่องลือด้วยนามว่า ‘จยวน’ จงบอกแก่เราเถิด”
