Jaratkāru-nirukti and Parīkṣit’s forest encounter (जরত्कारुनिरुक्तिः—परिक्षिद्वनप्रसङ्गः)
शेष उवाच सोदर्या मम सर्वे हि भ्रातरो मन्दचेतस: । सह तैर्नोत्सहे वस्तुं तद् भवाननुमन्यताम्,शेषनाग बोले--भगवन्! मेरे सब सहोदर भाई बड़े मन्दबुद्धि हैं, अतः मैं उनके साथ नहीं रहना चाहता। आप मेरी इस इच्छाका अनुमोदन करें
śeṣa uvāca: sodaryā mama sarve hi bhrātaro mandacetasaḥ | saha tair notsahe vastum tad bhavān anumanyatām ||
เศษะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พี่น้องร่วมครรภ์ของข้าทั้งหมดล้วนมีปัญญาทึบ ข้าจึงไม่ปรารถนาจะอยู่ร่วมกับพวกเขา ขอพระองค์ทรงอนุมัติปณิธานของข้าด้วยเถิด”
