अग्निर॒वाच ऋषिद्रोणस्त्वमसि वै ब्रह्म तद् व्याहृतं त्वया । ईप्सितं ते करिष्यामि न च ते विद्यते भयम्,अग्नि बोले--जान पड़ता है, तुम द्रोण ऋषि हो; क्योंकि तुमने उस ब्रह्मका ही प्रतिपादन किया है। मैं तुम्हारा अभीष्ट सिद्ध करूँगा, तुम्हें कोई भय नहीं है
agnir uvāca ṛṣidroṇas tvam asi vai brahma tad vyāhṛtaṃ tvayā | īpsitaṃ te kariṣyāmi na ca te vidyate bhayam ||
อัคนีกล่าวว่า—“โทรณะเอ๋ย เจ้าหาใช่คนสามัญไม่ เป็นฤๅษีแท้ เพราะเจ้าได้เปล่งวาจาและแสดงพรหมนั้น เราจักกระทำสิ่งที่เจ้าปรารถนาให้สำเร็จ สำหรับเจ้าแล้วไม่มีความหวาดหวั่น”
