यस्तु कृच्छुमनुप्राप्तं विचेता नावबुध्यते । स कृच्छुकाले व्यथितो न श्रेयो विन्दते महत्‌,जो मूढ़चित्त जीव आनेवाले संकटको नहीं जानता, वह संकटके समय व्यथित होनेके कारण महान्‌ कल्याणसे वंचित रह जाता है

yastu kṛcchram anuprāptaṁ vicetā nāvabudhyate | sa kṛcchrakāle vyathito na śreyo vindate mahat ||

แต่ผู้ใดแม้มีความสามารถใคร่ครวญกลับไม่รู้เท่าทันวิกฤตที่กำลังใกล้เข้ามา ครั้นเมื่อความยากลำบากนั้นมาถึง เขาย่อมหวั่นไหวทุกข์ร้อน และย่อมพลาดโอกาสแห่งความผาสุกอันยิ่งและประโยชน์แท้
