वैशम्पायन उवाच यदर्थ शार्कईकानग्निर्न ददाह तथागते । तत्‌ ते सर्व प्रवक्ष्यामि यथाभूतमरिंदम

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | yadarthaṃ śārkāikān agnir na dadāha tathāgate | tat te sarvaṃ pravakṣyāmi yathābhūtam ariṃdama ||

Translation

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “โอ ผู้ปราบศัตรู! เราจักบอกแก่ท่านโดยพิสดารตามความจริงว่า เหตุใดแม้เมื่อเพลิงอันน่าสะพรึงกลัวนั้นได้อุบัติขึ้นแล้ว พระอัคนีจึงมิได้เผาผลาญชาวศารกไอกะ และเหตุการณ์นั้นดำเนินไปอย่างไร จงฟังเถิด”
