तदेतददभुतं ब्रह्मज्छा्डकाणामनामयम् | कीर्तयस्वाग्निसम्मर्दे कथं ते न विनाशिता:
tad etad adbhutaṁ brahma śāṇḍakānām anāmayam | kīrtayasva agni-sammarde kathaṁ te na vināśitāḥ ||
ชนเมชัยตรัสว่า—“โอ พราหมณ์! ที่นกศารกุกะทั้งหลายรอดพ้นอย่างปลอดภัยท่ามกลางอัคคีภัยอันน่าสะพรึงนั้น เป็นเรื่องน่าอัศจรรย์ยิ่ง ขอท่านจงเล่าเถิดว่า ในท่ามกลางแรงกระหน่ำของเพลิงอันเกรียงไกรนั้น พวกเขาเหตุใดจึงมิได้พินาศ”
