Jarītā–Śārṅgā-saṃvāda: Ākhu-haraṇa and the Approach of Agni (आखुहरणं अग्न्यागमनश्च)

āśā tyājyo ’smi yuṣmābhir bṛhad-vāṇair na jugupsitaḥ | tan nārtha kratu-śraddhāṃ vyāghātayitum adya tām ||

Educational Q&A

Moral authority to reject someone arises only when there is real ethical failure (patitatva, neglect of proper service and conduct). Otherwise, one should not obstruct sincere śraddhā directed toward a dharmic rite such as yajña.

A royal sage, angered, addresses the resident sages/brāhmaṇas: he concedes that if he were truly blameworthy they could abandon him, but since he is not, they should not interfere with his present resolve and faith to proceed with the sacrifice.
