आदि पर्व — खाण्डवदाह प्रसङ्गः: पावकस्य याचनं तथा इन्द्रवर्षनिवारणोपायः

आदित्य इव त॑ देशं कृत्स्नं सर्व व्यकाशयत्‌ । तस्य दृष्ट्वा तपस्तादूग्‌ रूप॑ चाद्धुतमुत्तमम्‌

āditya iva taṁ deśaṁ kṛtsnaṁ sarvaṁ vyakāśayat | tasya dṛṣṭvā tapastādṛg rūpaṁ cādbhutam uttamam ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ดุจดวงอาทิตย์ เขาส่องสว่างทั่วทั้งถิ่นนั้นไปทุกทิศทุกทาง ครั้นได้เห็นเขา—ตบะที่ประจักษ์ชัด และรูปโฉมอันน่าอัศจรรย์ยิ่งเลิศ—(ผู้คนก็พากันตะลึงงัน)”
