आदित्य इव त॑ देशं कृत्स्नं सर्व व्यकाशयत् । तस्य दृष्ट्वा तपस्तादूग् रूप॑ चाद्धुतमुत्तमम्
āditya iva taṁ deśaṁ kṛtsnaṁ sarvaṁ vyakāśayat | tasya dṛṣṭvā tapastādṛg rūpaṁ cādbhutam uttamam ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ดุจดวงอาทิตย์ เขาส่องสว่างทั่วทั้งถิ่นนั้นไปทุกทิศทุกทาง ครั้นได้เห็นเขา—ตบะที่ประจักษ์ชัด และรูปโฉมอันน่าอัศจรรย์ยิ่งเลิศ—(ผู้คนก็พากันตะลึงงัน)”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights tapas as a moral-spiritual force: disciplined austerity manifests outwardly as clarity, radiance, and excellence, inspiring reverence and self-restraint in those who witness it.
Vaiśampāyana describes a figure whose presence illuminates the whole area like the sun; observers see his powerful austerity and extraordinary, supreme form, and are overwhelmed by the marvel of it.
