कर्णस्य मन्त्रः — Duryodhana-प्रति नीति-विचारः

Karna’s Counsel on Strategy toward the Pāṇḍavas

लोकवेददविरुद्ध त्वं नाधर्म धर्मविच्छुचि: । कर्तुमहसि कौन्तेय कस्मात्‌ ते बुद्धिरीदृशी,“तुम धर्मके ज्ञाता और पवित्र हो, अतः तुम्हें लोक और वेदके विरुद्ध यह अधर्म नहीं करना चाहिये। तुम कुन्तीके पुत्र हो; तुम्हारी बुद्धि ऐसी क्‍यों हो रही है?

lokavedaviruddhaṁ tvaṁ nādharmaṁ dharmavic chuciḥ | kartum arhasi kaunteya kasmāt te buddhir īdṛśī ||

ทฺรุปทกล่าวว่า “ท่านเป็นผู้รู้ธรรมและบริสุทธิ์ เหตุฉะนั้นไม่ควรกระทำอธรรมอันขัดต่อจารีตโลกและอำนาจแห่งพระเวท โอ กุนเตย เหตุใดดุลยพินิจของท่านจึงเป็นเช่นนี้”
