The Ritual Formalization of Draupadī’s Marriage

वैशम्पायन उवाच स एवमुक्तो मतिमान्‌ नृवीरो मात्रा मुहूर्त तु विचिन्त्य राजा । कुन्तीं समाश्वास्य कुरुप्रवीरो धनंजयं वाक्यमिदं बभाषे,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--राजन्‌! कुरुश्रेष्ठ नरवीर राजा युधिष्ठिर बड़े बुद्धिमान्‌ थे। उन्होंने माताकी यह बात सुनकर दो घड़ीतक (मन-ही-मन) कुछ विचार किया। फिर कुन्तीदेवीको भलीभाँति आश्वासन देकर उन्होंने धनंजयसे यह बात कही--

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: sa evam ukto matimān nṛvīro mātrā muhūrtaṁ tu vicintya rājā | Kuntīṁ samāśvāsya kurupravīro dhanañjayaṁ vākyam idaṁ babhāṣe ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า เมื่อได้ฟังถ้อยคำของมารดา พระราชายุธิษฐิระ ผู้ทรงปัญญาและกล้าหาญ ผู้เลิศในหมู่กุรุ ได้ใคร่ครวญอยู่ชั่วครู่ แล้วทรงปลอบประโลมกุนตีให้คลายกังวล ก่อนตรัสถ้อยคำนี้แก่ธนัญชัย (อรชุน)
