Educational Q&A

The verse highlights an ideal of royal conduct: sustaining public life through generosity (dāna) and orderly celebration, where wealth is redistributed and cultural arts elevate the dignity of the occasion.

A large royal gathering continues over many days, drawing increasing crowds; the hosts distribute plentiful gifts of wealth and jewels, while performers—actors and dancers—provide entertainment that enhances the assembly’s splendor.
