गन्धर्व उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct: after recovering awareness, the king first offers respectful salutation (abhivāda) with folded hands (kṛtāñjali) to the sage. It models humility, self-restraint, and recognition of spiritual authority as an ethical corrective after turmoil.
A king (noted in the accompanying prose as Kalmāṣapāda) regains consciousness and immediately bows to the sage Vasiṣṭha, then begins to speak. The moment marks a transition from disorientation to composed, respectful dialogue.
