गन्धर्व उवाच
The verse highlights that authentic Vedic study is disciplined and tradition-grounded: recitation should be properly connected (saṃgati), supported by the Vedāṅgas, and aimed at conveying complete meaning—linking learning with dharma rather than mere display.
A character (as reported by the Gandharva) hears from behind the resonant sound of Vedic recitation—suggesting the presence of a learned ascetic or student engaged in study, marked by correct chanting and comprehensive understanding.
