The verse subtly foregrounds dharma in domestic and āśrama contexts: after extensive wandering, one returns to the stabilizing order of the hermitage, and family members—here the daughter-in-law—act with attentiveness and loyalty, maintaining connection and responsibility rather than isolation.
A male figure (referred to simply as ‘he’) has traveled across many mountains and regions and then comes back near his hermitage. His daughter-in-law, named Adṛśyantī, follows behind him as they approach the āśrama.
