मन्दर-समुद्रमन्थन-वर्णनम् / Description of the Churning of the Ocean with Mount Mandara
कद्रूश्न लब्ध्वा पुत्राणां सहस्र॑ तुल्यवर्चसाम् । धार्यो प्रयत्नतो गर्भावित्युक्त्वा स महातपा:
kadrūś ca labdhvā putrāṇāṁ sahasraṁ tulyavarcāsām | dhāryo prayatnato garbha ity uktvā sa mahātapāḥ ||
กัทรูเองก็ได้พรให้มีบุตรหนึ่งพันผู้มีรัศมีเสมอกัน. ครั้นแล้วมหาตบัสวีกล่าวว่า “พวกเจ้าทั้งสองจงทะนุถนอมและพิทักษ์ครรภ์ของตนด้วยความเพียรอย่างยิ่ง.”
शौनक उवाच
A gift or boon brings duty: when life and lineage are granted, one must protect and sustain it through careful, disciplined effort (prayatna), guided by dharma.
Śaunaka recounts that Kadrū obtained a thousand radiant sons, and the great ascetic speaker in the story emphasizes that the pregnancy/embryos must be carefully carried and safeguarded.
