Chapter 157

चेरुभैक्षं तदा ते तु सर्व एव विशाम्पते । बभूवुर्नागराणां च स्वैर्गुणै: प्रियदर्शना:,जनमेजय! उस समय वे सभी पाण्डव भाँति-भाँतिके रमणीय वनों, सुन्दर भूभागों, सरिताओं और सरोवरोंका दर्शन करते हुए भिक्षाके द्वारा जीवन-निर्वाह करते थे। अपने उत्तम गुणोंके कारण वे सभी नागरिकोंके प्रीति-पात्र हो गये थे

cerubhaikṣaṃ tadā te tu sarva eva viśāmpate | babhūvur nāgarāṇāṃ ca svair guṇaiḥ priyadarśanāḥ ||

“ข้าแต่ผู้เป็นใหญ่เหนือหมู่ชน ในกาลนั้นพวกเขาทั้งหมดดำรงชีพด้วยภิกษา และด้วยคุณความดีของตนเอง จึงเป็นผู้ควรชื่นชม น่าดู และเป็นที่รักของชาวนคร”
