सो<यं ते बन्धुकामाया अशृण्वत्या वचो मम । बन्धुप्रणाश: सम्प्राप्तो भृशं॑ दुः:खकरो मम,तुमने बंधु-बान्धवोंके साथ रहनेकी इच्छा रखकर जो मेरी बात नहीं सुनी, उसीका यह फल है कि आज समस्त भाई-बंधुओंके विनाशकी घड़ी आ पहुँची है, जो मेरे लिये अत्यन्त दुःखका कारण है

so ’yaṁ te bandhukāmāyā aśṛṇvatyā vaco mama | bandhu-praṇāśaḥ samprāpto bhṛśaṁ duḥkha-karo mama ||

เพราะความใคร่จะอยู่ท่ามกลางญาติพี่น้อง เจ้าจึงมิได้ฟังถ้อยคำของข้าพเจ้า ผลจึงเป็นดังนี้—บัดนี้กาลแห่งความพินาศของญาติของเจ้าได้มาถึงแล้ว และสิ่งนั้นนำความทุกข์อันใหญ่หลวงมาสู่ข้าพเจ้า
