Drupada’s Putrakāmeṣṭi: The Sacrificial Birth of Dhṛṣṭadyumna and Kṛṣṇā

वीरेणाहं तथानेन त्वया चापि यशस्विनि । प्रत्याख्याता न जीवामि सत्यमेतद्‌ ब्रवीमि ते,“यशस्विनि! यदि ये वीरवर भीमसेन या आप मेरी इस प्रार्थनाको ठुकरा देंगी तो मैं जीवित नहीं रह सकूँगी। यह मैं आपसे सत्य कहती हूँ

vīreṇāhaṃ tathānena tvayā cāpi yaśasvini | pratyākhyātā na jīvāmi satyam etad bravīmi te ||

โอ สตรีผู้ทรงเกียรติ หากข้าถูกวีรบุรุษผู้นั้น—และท่านด้วย—ปฏิเสธ ข้าก็จักไม่อาจมีชีวิตอยู่ต่อไปได้ ข้ากล่าวความจริงแก่ท่าน
