Educational Q&A

The verse highlights ethical clarity in relationships: one should honor affection without clinging, recognize when a shared obligation has reached its proper end, and uphold promises—especially the pledge to help again in times of need.

After living with Bhīma and aiding the Pāṇḍavas, Hiḍimbā tells them her allotted time of cohabitation is complete, makes an agreement to reappear if required, and departs to her own place.
