वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! उधर रात व्यतीत होनेपर वारणावत नगरके सारे नागरिक बड़ी उतावलीके साथ पाण्डुकुमारोंकी दशा देखनेके लिये उस लाक्षागृहके समीप आये

Transliteration

Vaiśampāyana uvāca—Janamejaya! tataḥ rātryāṃ vyatītāyāṃ Vāraṇāvata-nagarasya sarve nāgarāḥ mahāutkaṇṭhyena Pāṇḍu-kumārāṇāṃ daśāṃ draṣṭuṃ tasya lākṣāgṛhasya samīpam ājagmuḥ.

Translation

ไวศัมปายนกล่าวว่า—“โอ้ชนเมชัย ครั้นราตรีล่วงไปแล้ว ชาวเมืองวารณาวตทั้งปวงต่างเร่งร้อนด้วยความกระวนกระวาย พากันมาถึงใกล้เรือนยางรักนั้น เพื่อดูว่าบุตรแห่งปาณฑุเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง”
