आदि पर्व — अध्याय 148: कुन्ती–ब्राह्मणसंवादः (दुःखमूल-प्रश्नः) / Kuntī and the Brahmin: Inquiry into the Root of Suffering
वैशम्पायन उवाच एवं ते विलपन्ति सम वारणावतका जना: । परिवार्य गृहं तच्च तस्थू रात्रौी समन््ततः,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! इस प्रकार वारणावतके लोग विलाप करने लगे। वे रातभर उस घरको चारों ओरसे घेरकर खड़े रहे
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: evaṃ te vilapantaḥ sama Vāraṇāvatakā janāḥ | parivārya gṛhaṃ tac ca tasthuḥ rātrau samantataḥ ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ดังนี้ชาววารณาวตะก็ร่ำไห้คร่ำครวญกัน แล้วพากันล้อมเรือนนั้นไว้ทุกทิศทุกทาง ยืนเฝ้าอยู่ตลอดราตรี”
