स निरीक्ष्य महाबाहु: सर्वतो रड्भजमण्डलम्‌ । प्रणाम द्रोणकृपयोर्नात्यादृतमिवाकरोत्‌,उस समय महाबाहु कर्णने रंगमण्डपमें सब ओर दृष्टि डालकर द्रोणाचार्य और कृपाचार्यको इस प्रकार प्रणाम किया, मानो उनके प्रति उसके मनमें अधिक आदरका भाव नहो

sa nirīkṣya mahābāhuḥ sarvato raṅgamaṇḍalam | praṇāma droṇakṛpayor nātyādṛtam ivākarot ||

ครั้นแล้วกรรณะผู้มีพาหาใหญ่ทอดพระเนตรมณฑลสนามไปโดยรอบ แล้วถวายบังคมแด่โทรณและกฤปะ; ทว่าอาการบังคมนั้นดูประหนึ่งมิได้มีความเคารพยำเกรงอย่างแท้จริงในดวงใจ.
