Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
पोथयन्तं महाबाहुं त्वं वै तं ज्ञातुमरहसि । “वह हमलोगोंके पास बेहोशीकी हालतमें आया था, किंतु हमारे डँसनेपर जाग उठा और होशमें आ गया। होशमें आनेपर तो वह महाबाहु अपने सारे बन्धनोंको शीघ्र तोड़कर हमें पछाड़ने लगा है। आप चलकर उसे पहचानें"
vaishampāyana uvāca | pothayantaṃ mahābāhuṃ tvaṃ vai taṃ jñātum arhasi | “sa hy asmākaṃ samīpaṃ mūrcchitaḥ samāgataḥ, kintu asmābhiḥ daṣṭaḥ san prabuddho bhūtvā saṃjñāṃ prāptaḥ | saṃjñāṃ prāpya tu sa mahābāhuḥ sarvān bandhanān śīghraṃ bhittvā asmān parājayituṃ pravṛttaḥ | tvaṃ gatvā taṃ parijānīhi”
ท่านพึงจำแนกบุรุษผู้มีพาหาอันยิ่งใหญ่นั้นให้ได้ ผู้กำลังกระหน่ำเราจนพ่ายแพ้ เขามาถึงเราในสภาพสลบไสล แต่เมื่อเรากัดเขา เขาก็ตื่นและได้สติ ครั้นได้สติแล้ว นักรบผู้ทรงกำลังก็ฉีกทำลายพันธนาการทั้งสิ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว และบัดนี้กำลังข่มเราอยู่ ท่านจงไปพิสูจน์ว่าเขาเป็นผู้ใด
