Droṇa–Drupada Saṃvāda and Droṇa’s Reception at the Kuru Court (द्रोण-द्रुपद-संवादः; कुरुनगरप्रवेशः)
अधर्मेण न नो धर्म: संयुज्यति कथंचन । लोकक्षायं वरारोहे धर्मोडयमिति मन्यते
adharmeṇa na no dharmaḥ saṁyujyati kathaṁcana | lokakṣāyaṁ varārohe dharmo ’yam iti manyate |
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ด้วยอธรรมแล้ว ธรรมของเราย่อมไม่อาจเกี่ยวข้องกับอธรรมได้ไม่ว่ากรณีใด นางผู้มีสะโพกงาม แม้ชาวโลกก็ถือว่านี่แลคือธรรมโดยตรง—ธรรมที่คุ้มครองสังคมจากความพินาศ โอรสที่บังเกิดโดยธรรมจักเป็นผู้ทรงธรรมยิ่งที่สุดในหมู่กุรุทั้งหลาย ไม่ต้องสงสัย และโอรสที่ธรรมประทานนั้น จิตย่อมไม่เอนเอียงไปสู่อธรรม เพราะฉะนั้น นางผู้ยิ้มละมุน จงสำรวมใจและอินทรีย์ทั้งหลาย ตั้งธรรมไว้เบื้องหน้า แล้วด้วยการบูชาที่สมควรและพิธีกรรมตามแบบแผน จงอัญเชิญเทพธรรมเถิด”
