युधिष्ठिरो राजपुत्रो ज्येष्टो न: कुलवर्धन: । प्राप्त: स्वगुणतो राज्यं न तस्मिन्‌ वाच्यमस्ति न:,“आदरणीय गुरुजनो! हमारे कुलकी कीर्ति बढ़ानेवाले राजकुमार युधिष्ठिर सबसे ज्येष्ठ हैं। वे अपने गुणोंसे राज्यको पानेके अधिकारी हो चुके हैं। उनके विषयमें हमें कुछ नहीं कहना है

vaiśampāyana uvāca | yudhiṣṭhiro rājaputro jyeṣṭho naḥ kulavardhanaḥ | prāptaḥ svaguṇato rājyaṃ na tasmin vācyam asti naḥ |

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ยุธิษฐิระ ราชกุมารผู้เป็นพี่ใหญ่ของเรา เป็นผู้เพิ่มพูนเกียรติแห่งวงศ์ตระกูล ด้วยคุณความดีของตนเองเขาได้เป็นผู้มีสิทธิ์ในราชอาณาจักรแล้ว ฉะนั้นในเรื่องของเขา เราไม่มีถ้อยคำคัดค้านใด ๆ”
