अनुज्ञातो5थ कृष्णस्तु ब्रह्मणा परमेषछ्ठिना । निषसादासनाभ्याशे प्रीयमाण: शुचिस्मित:,परमेष्ठी ब्रह्माजीकी आज्ञासे वे उनके आसनके पास ही बैठ गये। उस समय व्यासजीके हृदयमें आनन्दका समुद्र उमड़ रहा था और मुखपर मन्द-मन्द पवित्र मुसकान लहरा रही थी
anujñāto ’tha kṛṣṇas tu brahmaṇā parameṣṭhinā | niṣasādāsanābhyāśe prīyamāṇaḥ śucismitaḥ ||
แล้วกฤษณะ (วยาสะ) ครั้นได้รับอนุญาตจากพระพรหมผู้เป็นปรเมษฐิน ก็ได้นั่งลงใกล้พระอาสนะ ใจของเขาเปี่ยมด้วยความปีติ และบนใบหน้ามีรอยยิ้มอ่อนโยนอันบริสุทธิ์ปรากฏอยู่
