Shiva (Mahadeva) (as quoted within Suta’s narration)
It asserts that Shiva’s anugraha (grace) is the decisive fruit of devotion—Linga-bhakti culminates in the devotee becoming universally venerable, indicating the transformative power of worship directed to Pati.
Shiva is shown as Pati—the sovereign giver of prasāda—whose grace alone can elevate the pashu (individual soul) beyond ordinary status, making the devotee honored even by opposing cosmic factions (devas and asuras).
The key practice is single-pointed devotion and surrender to Shiva; it aligns with Pashupata orientation where steadfast bhakti and reliance on the Lord’s prasāda are central to transcending bondage (pāśa).
