FAQs

It serves as the concluding seal that the complete monthly discipline of Śiva-vrata—typically expressed through Linga-pūjā, purity, and restraint—has been fully transmitted, emphasizing regular (pratimāsa) devotion to Pati (Śiva).

By framing the observance as “Śiva-vrata,” the verse implies Śiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who is approached through disciplined practice; the vrata functions as a means for the pashu (individual soul) to loosen pāśa (bondage) through devotion and right conduct.

A recurring monthly vrata regimen—supporting Linga-pūjā and Shaiva niyamas—presented as a structured sādhanā that can align with Pāśupata-inspired discipline (restraint, purity, and steadfast worship).
