Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames Linga-worship as more than an external rite: śiva-dhyāna (inner absorption in Śiva) is presented as a direct purifier that destroys pāpa, aligning the devotee (pashu) toward the Lord (Pati).
Śiva-tattva is indicated as Īśa, the sovereign Pati, who also stands as the underlying reality of the trimūrti-functions; he is the power that awakens śiva-bhakti, which is itself a liberating force against pasha (bondage).
Single-minded Śiva-dhyāna (ekāgratā in contemplation of Śiva), a core Pāśupata-oriented inner discipline, is highlighted as the means for pāpa-kṣaya and the arousal of bhakti.
