FAQs

It situates Linga worship within Shiva’s cosmic sovereignty (Pati): even exalted Gandharvas and celestial figures are listed as belonging to, or praising, the Lord’s sacred order—implying the worshipper (pashu) should also align with that order through puja and devotion.

By enumerating illustrious celestial beings in connection with the Lord, the verse indirectly presents Shiva-tattva as supreme lordship (pati-bhāva): all ranks of beings, from sages to Gandharvas, are encompassed within His dominion and praise.

No specific rite is prescribed in this line; its takeaway is devotional orientation—praising and remembering Shiva’s divine order (gaṇa-smaraṇa), which supports Pashupata discipline by turning the pashu away from pasha (bondage) toward Pati (the Lord).
